Spring 2020 Pages

Here we are at our Page Pin Ceremony!

The Spring 2020 Pages served during a tremendously important time in American history. We witnessed the impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump, the 2020 State of the Union Address, and handled early legislation combatting COVID-19. As Pages, we set up the Senate Chamber, delivered bills and amendments, made copies, and filled senators’ water glasses.

We also watched senators debate one another on the floor of the Senate. We listened to arguments made for each side, watched lawmakers interact and attempt to rally votes. Most of all, we learned from the political process, gained lifelong skills, and valuable insight into how an efficient country runs. As former Pages, we are all academically high-achieving, self-motivated, and accomplished, having been selected for the prestigious Program.

The selection process was rigorous and well-written essays and resumes helped us get chosen. We also had to meet the strict academic standards of the Page School. And in order to do so, we had to read and write well in addition to having a decent understanding of science and math skills.

Now, as former Pages and young women, we hope to use our platform to help other girls achieve all around the world, to make sure that they have the same academic opportunities that we had in order to allow them to gain social and career success.
